how important is it that your partner shares the same religious beliefs as you?
if you have kids what religion will they grow up under if the mother and father dont share the same beliefs?

The kid will be Jewish. Don't care if the mother is, however.

Make the kid choose his own third religion.

basically, morality is the key, BUT I think it would bother me thinking in a way, that the person I was with didnt have a communion with God. Id probably try to convert her a lot.

i know in christianity, the bible says, "A pure spirit cannot become one with an impure one. You are unequally yoked." nutshell- christains arent supposed to marry outside of their religion. it is the same in other cultures and religions, and not in others.
but it makes sense. why be with someone who has opposing beliefs. youde be at each others backs all the time.

ultimately i agree with you right there. morality is the most important thing. if i met an amazing woman that didn't necessarily have the same beliefs that i do, i could still marry her...i just would either agree to disagree....
i'm not so confrontational that it would be a serious problem, unless she was the type of person that is really pushy with that sort of thing...in which case...i wouldn't be marrying her anyway for other reasons hehehe...

it would mainly be some serious talks. I do them a lot anyway, even with people of the same faith, cuz I like trying to hammer down exactly how we feel we fit in with life, because connectedness is an important thing for happiness.
Im just pretty sure I could eventually win that one hehe, its been a large part of my life in study and in living and philosophy

no actually the opposite. i think we're both saying that a person with a sense of morals...even if they didn't share a common religion...is the most important thing...
