Smoking ..umm..something what would you do with $180,000,000 (before taxes)?

So, the powerball is up to cool $180 Mill... I'm off to buy some tix - but curious, what would you do with this kind of loot if you won?

Keep in mind that in reality (cash out) option you'd get about 25% of that - which is still a smokingly-cool $45 mill cash money.

So, what would it be? for real.. not something stupid like fill my pool with dom perignon and fill it with h00kerz.

key is: REAL WISHES or what you'd spend the dough on.

Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

I would give half to my mom, take a little bit for myself and go backpacking around Europe, buy a cottage on a cliff in Nova Scotia. Move my family out with me. The remainder I would fly over Africa and drop from a plane. Oh wait, that currency wouldn't work. I would want to drop it somewhere. Leave large bills in secret places for people to find and watch their faces as they discover it. Donate to Micro-loans, etc. Money would only corrupt me damnit, I want want to splurge a little, but I don't know what on. Wine? OMG I would want my own winery and Sicilian body masseuise and midget entertainers! and hand-made soap boutique! and millions and millions of PEZ.

i would build a massive club somewhere in europe

and run it 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, with the best names non-stop

and let all my friends in for free

and become addicted to drugs and alcohol and meaningless sex

until i lose all my money, but still have just enough to buy a little villa somewhere on the mediterranean, but then become addicted to meaningful sex and tanning

Which stock, WebVan.com, Pets.com, or Arthur Anderson (oh wait -they were privately held)

J/K. I think with proper fund management and this kind of dough, you could invest into high-yeild energy mutual funds. Return this quarter alone has been astronomical. But I think the minimun investment is $100,000,000. Defenitely not for the "middle-class" millionaires.

Personally, I'd buy a house somewhere near happening scene - like Miami, a house in the Hamptons, a Murcielago for me, Testarosa for my wifey, a custom BMW M5x (4WD M5), set my relatives up with some type of financial instrument that would give them a steady annual income, invest my cash into some kind of vehichle that would yeild about $250k/year pay and kick back somewhere on a beach in Nice, Monaco, or Ibiza and - watch my money grow while I chill'.

...oh, and take all my friends out for some Chinese food....

in Hong Kong Followed by sushi in Tokyo, Shashlik (shishkebab) in Tbilisi or Erevan, Borsh in Kiev, Fish and Chips in London, and finest ganja in Amsterdam...

I'd probably buy a setup with a few hundred records (that would only ammount to a few thousand). With the rest, I'd live off the rest of my life without working, living in apartements in cities around the world. Eventually I could open a night club and/or a restaurant.
