Anders Fogh Rasmussen on his recent visit to George W. Bush in Washington
The announcement comes five days after Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen met with Bush in Washington, where they discussed international issues, including Iraq.
President Bush was first invited to Denmark by Fogh Rasmussen back in 2002. Fogh Rasmussen has visited Bush four times but this will be the President’s first visit here.
“It is only the second time an American President has visited Denmark. His visit underlines the excellent relations between Denmark and the US,” said Fogh Rasmussen. The visit is likely to include a meeting with Denmark's royal family.
In 1997, Bill Clinton became the first sitting U.S. president to visit Denmark. |
Woot. And I'm not going to be there. Even more woot!
Of course the parties at the left have already promised to have a "frank conversation" with Bush, insisting that the US should spend its energy on "the serious issues: Poverty and hunger". I'm sure Bush is looking forward to that birthday present.
