Started a new track here and I'm looking for opinions on the opening of it in the sample provided. The breaks have a bit of a funky feel to them and hopefully they link in nicely with the other layers. Please let me know what you think. Link below (right click and save target as)

Gotta love the breaks projects

Just gave this a listen and I'm liking it so far mate. Really like the choppy drums, gives it it some tasty funkyness! Nice atmospheric feel to the tune aswell as it progresses, liking all these sounds you've included! The bass stab you use is also well suited, goes with the drums and atmosphere very nicely... although I think its sitting in the mix at a loud level, turning it down a notch would improve that!

Also I think making the drums a bit louder would be a good idea and adding a few sparse drum hits here and there on the intro would make it more interesting to listen to, so when the drums actually come in it wouldnt sound so sudden or abrubt.. if you know what I mean?

Yeah I fully understand what you mean, will put in some hints of the drums to add an extra dimension to the breaks before they begin. Really useful tip there, thanks. Glad your feeling the funky feel to it too.
