this is a good question, i need the answer on this question too. Vst is used more often, so i guess its better. But let's hear the pro's on this subject

i can't give the answer, but i don't think one is 'better' then the other. i'd like to get clearified on the pro's/con's of each as well though

I always use the VSTi versions, DXi's can't be automate in my FL Studio sequencer.

DXi's were developed by Microsoft in the mid 90's and were suppose to compete w/ VST's, thats why Cakewalk picked up. Steinberg had direct control over all VSTi. Now they co-exist and Cakewalk and most other sequencers support both. What is used for logic is called AU and it's suppose to be superior to VST...

Somehow the DXi stuff seems to take more processor capacity than the VST version, plus it seems buggier when using it (at least in my Fruity Loops), so I prefer the VST version whenever there is some.
