You might try contacting the various film comissions in Nevada, Arizona, and possibly New Mexico and ask them if the film was shot in their state. Chances are they keep a good record of these things, and will be more than happy to let you know about it (if infact it was one of those three states).

I am not totally sure if this is the location or not but from a little research this is what I found. It might of been Bronson Canyon, which has been used for a ton of different movies, and is in LA/Hollywood. That is the Vasquez Rocks formation.

Infamous for being in movies.

Just look it up on Google. Plenty of Info.

I just shot a movie at the Bronson Cave complex this past Feb. Its in Griffith Park.

Definitely not the same place as the pics at the top of this page. Great location though.
