Sample Choice Anxiety: come on, admit it!

The name says it all (thanks Dave West!): Sample Choice Anxiety (or VST / Preset Choice Anxiety for that matter).

How many of you suffer from this nerve wrecking affliction occasionaly?

Come on: speak out - you're surely not alone!

I use samples for; Kick, bass (if it's an off-beat bass), percussion, cymbals etc.

Of course I add a lot of FX on most of them..

lazy bastards, i'd rather create absolute crap (and so i do) than create a good track with samples all over the place, then i would have the feeling it isnt completely self made and then i would hang myself, which is a good remedy i must add, try it

Dickie, I think you missed the point, mate.

Samples are just building blocks, elements with wich you can create a specific sound. If you think the use of samples is opposite of creativity and originality, you still have along way to go....(IMO)

Well your point wasn't very clear...

I just try different samples. What gives me the sound I'm after, I stick to it.

I feel like that...I HATE using samples...I feel like it is not completely original from me. That is why I never listen to trance when I produce. Hell, I barely listen to it, hehe. Anyway, ONLY samples I use are Bren-F's Trance Percussion...that is IT.

when all producers do it, why shouldnt we?

I mean, should we make our own VST cause we want to be 100% original?
