What did you think of clubs and clubbers before you started clubbing?
when i was in high school, i thought everyone that went to clubs were a bunch of rich druggies and/or gangstas.
what were your thoughts of clubbers and clubbing in general?

thought the same thing. then i went to roxy one night. changed my life forever.
you can add magazine cutout roidheads to that stereotype as well. but unforunately thats more true with some clubs then some of the others.

In the beginning there was Jack. And Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box Jack boldly declared "Let there be house!" And house music was born. I am the creator and this is my house and in my house there is only house music. But I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes our house and our house music and you see no one man owns house because house music is a universal language spoke and understood by all. You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body and as I told you before this is our house and our house music. In every house you understand, there is a keeper and in this house the keeper is Jack.

First time goin to a club was back durin Tony Draper Nights at Exit. It was a bunch of Zombies tryin to dance.... bunch of e-tards. If you got into exit early enough, you'll see the tap dancing guy on the floor dancing with the lights.

Thought clubs/clubbers and the music that was played were complete cheese. Never thought I would get into the club scene...hell I was a skater who listened to The Misfits, Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, etc...etc.
Then sometime in '98 I was dragged out to a little place called Twilo where 2 dj's named Sasha and Digweed were just starting their residency. That was a crazy night, to say the least.
These days my old opinions on this "scene" are starting to creep back. With the exclusion of the many great people I've met over the years and a few smaller parties that I thoroughly enjoy myself at today, it's really not doing it for me the way it once did.

Alyssa I was just thinking that!!! You and I were saying "remember him from exit"!!!
Anywho, I was totally into the "Rap Scene" Wu-Tang, ONYX, Tupac, Biggie. Wearing my bandanna with pants 10 sizes too big; straight up ebonics talk. First "real" dance club I went to was CARBON and I HATED IT! It wasn't until 1998 that I started listening to some club music. The CD that turned me on to EDM was UK HOUSE MIX vol.1 Had songs like Brooklyn Bounce - Get Ready to Bounce, The Spacefrog - Follow Me, Hypertropy - Come back to Me. But the song that got me into following international DJ's was PVD - For An Angel. It's only been since late 2002 that I've been into the scene like I am now. Prior to late '02, I was still into rap and after that I was into Jonathan Peters and Sound Factory until I saw PVD@ Roxy in Feb'03. The release of GLOBAL completely brought me into the trance scene.

joeyyyy <3 great times great times..
hmm iono -- i was pretty naive about all that stuff going on at the clubs, up to age 25 i thought ppl were there just to dance and hookup with ppl. then again the only clubs i had gone to were Palladium and Webster Hall ::shruggs:: then my friend came back from London and started clueing me in on the scene...call me stupid but thats the truth.
wow, so for u it was Global that did it? well that was the FIRST CD i got signed that night cuz my friend tossed it into the dj booth -- but the shows that really got me hooked was the Nov 2002 show at Roxy, then the unforgettable ARC gig on Monday Nov 4. after that I became a trance and PVD whore.

I never really had a opinion.... I went to a punk of punk shows at clubs.... Then i got into the dance seen when i was 17 and started djing soo after.... The clubs i dj'ed at were mostly posh snobby west palm beach clubs....
