Oldies that could need a remake

After seeing all nice classics being raped by hordes of half talents in the last two years I would like to ask you which tracks you think that could need a remake? Maybe it's a track that still is very good when you listen to it but even originally it was too simply produced. And maybe the studio sound of today could do it more justice.

One of those tracks I come to think of is Dance 2 Trance - We Came In Peace. It's a lovely track but I think it could be freshned up really nice. I am not talking about a remake by geckos such as Above & Beyond, Tiesto, DJ Danjo & Styles, Smith & Pledger etc. It gotta be someone which cherish the original track good enough to handle it with care (such as J00f did with Café Del Mar).

Give some examples plz 8)

Well I think there should be a rule if a track is remade, no matter who does it.

It should be EXACTLY the same as the original. But it should be remade on more modern equipment. No cheesy strings, no supersaws, no extra breakdown, no fluffy extra instruments.

EXACTLY the same, without any changes. The exact same tune, made on new equipment.

That way you take an original track and give it a modern sound.

Some of the older remakes were good tho. J00f did a good job with Cafe del Mar, but so did Marco V. Whereas J00fs mix was as you say, handled with care, Marco V's was outlandish enough to work. It wasnt cheesy, it was banging, and it worked very well.

yes I agree about that it should be remade in a modern studio. no cheesy breaks/vocals etc added.

One of the best remakes has to be Ricky Smith's remake of youknowwhat. That said, I really can't think of anything at this moment. But if it was to be a trance remake, I'd defo entrust the tickling task to DB.

Meridian - A LongTime 2003 - Lost In Time 2003 (Carlo Resoort Remix) side B is also one of the best IMO. I'm sure RebeL9 will agree. :-)

its a type of synth sound sused for those big epic leads.
