Dual deck cd players worth it?

I am in the market for buying cd players so I can play requested songs that i don't have on vinyl. I need something that actaully starts playing when you hit the play button and does not have a lag because the cd starting on cue makes mixing music much easier. but, I was wondering if dual deck cd players are any good. The pitch slider is looks small and i like to ride the pitch so the track stays perfectly on beat. will i run into problems because of that? Should i just get two pioneer cdj-100s or 200s.

check out Pioneer's dual deck, the cmx 3000...all the functions of the cdj 800s. Denons also got a new one out that looks very decent...the 6000 I believe.

the high end Numarks are REAL smooth and are very much comparable to the CMX. I got a chance to test drive it a couple weeks ago and was very very impressed.

I would get the 200 instead of the 800. Better resolution .Yes you have to start them with the play/pause button so what?

The ONLY twins you should consider are:
pioneer cmx 3000
denon 2600 (has looping and sampling on it)
denon 2100 (has looping on it)
denon 1800 mk2 (basic but a good workhorse)

denon 4000,6000 and 9000 are shite- they are not in the slightest bit reliable and I have used too many that have gone wrong.

The pioneer is awesome

As someone who's never used a dual cd player; why would one want it vs single cd players? What's the benefit? (apart from having 2 cds duh!)

i use both kinds, two separate cd players and duals...i can't see how a dual will ever beat having two separate players. if you have the money, or plan to save it...i'd go for cdj 200/800 or 1000mk2(if you have that much money), denon's 3000 or 5000. i wouldn't go for denon 1000, don't have the response and accuracy needed.

take a look at the techniques digital players, heard mixed reviews on them...but you might like them

as for the stanton i've asked around before, and the reviews or opinions are not that great

I've used the 9000 and 6000 out and haven't had any problems...what about them have gone wrong? I personally am not a big fan of the 2600...the pitch step on those are only .1% which gets annoying often. I agree though, the CMX is outstanding. That was my first dj setup ever and I have no complaints at all.

One advantage is that you can use it in a rack system. For a travelling DJ that means you can put both your inputs and mixer (19") in one neat little easy to carry package.

Performance wise though, I can't think of any advantages for the dual.
