What kind of trance?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, in fact this is my very first post. I have been spinning trance for about 2 years. I tend to play music by artists such as Minimalistix, Rank1, Ferry Corsten, Thrillseekers, 8 Wonders etc. The main reason I like plaing this type of music is because of the breakdowns and build ups. I was wondering what type of trance this was. For example, on the track TJ Davis - Wonderful Life (Ian Van Dhal Mix) the build up after the vocal where there is no beat, just music, is fantastic. What is this known as (if anything?). What other trance tracks or genres of trance adopt this style, i.e. not loads of beats but more that synthesised club sound? You know the sound I mean? It's also very pronounced in the track 8 Wonders - The Morning After (Thrillseekers Mix) where the breakdown occurs and then a driving bass line comes in. Awesome sound.

Trance producers from Holland, mainly.

OK. I was just hoping for some rarer names. Perhaps some artists or tracks which I may have missed.

Welcome to the forum dude. Sorry, if I knew the answer to your question I would tell you. And hoping anyone else in here will is pretty much a lost cause. Most like to act or claim they "know it all" without ever proving they do.

Maybe by checking out tracklists by the very artists you name will help you find what you are looking for. Ferry Corsten, maybe Armin van Buuren? You can go to the tracklisting section of this forum to find the music that they spin.

Thanks. A final Question. Are there any good web sites that anyone can direct me to in connection with the Dutch trance sound?

Hell, just browse the Black Hole / In Trance We Trust discographies and you'll be all set.
