i was in a group of 9 this year. the first thing i'd say is... don't camp. too much shit to carry around, no guarentee of a decent rest before the saturday, tent getting soaked & muddy in the case of rain again... granted it wouldn't have been half as bad if the weather was nice but fucked if i'm taking that risk again, hated it. and the friday wasn't nearly as impressive as the saturday anyway.

if you book flights early enough (around feb/march when the dates first get revealed) you should be able to bag them online for around £40 each inc taxes, through ryanair/easyjet/bmibaby etc. the prices go up fairly quickly though. we flew straight to amsterdam this year which was pretty much ideal, however last year we got a cheaper deal to eindhoven... involved a long train-ride though

ideally you want to be staying somewhere in amsterdam, since it's fairly near to the event and gives you plenty to do/see the night before/day after. there are shitloads of hotels there; i found one this year by searching for 'cheap amsterdam accommodation' in google .. and ended up booking through this site. you're looking at around 30-35 euros a night, for somewhere bugdet yet semi-decent.

once that's sorted, getting to/from the event is a piece of piss. plenty of free buses run to & from Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, which is a 10-min train journey from the central station bang in the middle of the dam. just be sure you don't hang around too much & miss the last bus home like we did, the taxi fare is steep

as for drugs... they weren't allowing weed in there this year, dunno what the deal with that was. everything else should be easily obtainable by approaching any black man on the streets of amsterdam (not wanting to sound racist but it's true.. lol). i recall they being pretty hard to come by inside the actual event.

hope that helps

indeed, what he said

it was a nightmare in the rain.... granted it shouldnt be as bad as it was again but u just never know! we wont be doing 2 days next year

take plenty of money... amsterdam is proper expensive... makes our city of central london seem cheep in comparison and thats saying something!

the group of 9 of us was ok but too many in one group makes for a nightmare trying to sort everyone out where they wanna go and who they go with... ie walking around the dam... some wanna go here some wanna go there.... the less the better in that respect tho obviously the more the better for socialising....

i may well be trecking from a london airport this year provided i can get them as cheap as we did from EMA this year.... did it to go with the others but the long drive home after all the travling makes me wanna go from down where i live next time!

you reckon?

Travel, accomodation and ticket for the event aside, I spent a grand total of £100 for 3 days, not bad going considering what we did.

Had I been able to hook you up with some stuff, it would have cost you at least the double

No way, they have those amazing places where you insert money into machines and are rewarded with hot dishes - genius! Perfect for when you come back in the early hours of the morning after caning it and have the killer munchies!
