Read This! Market Imposters

Ok, so a brand new generation of inmense troque TT are emerging, however are these really woth their reduced price? are they only using this as a propaganda to outrun the Technics, which i see both praised (for their many maket years and quality) and criticized for their apprent monopoly of price pumped TT; or are they really worth it and there is hardly any quality difference. I am new in this whole TT thing and would like to hear opinions of all those people who decided not to buy a Technics, since most technics owners are delighted with theirs...

Dude this is like asking which religion is the best

Gotta decide for yourself from all the available information (which is a lot if you search)

wow and flutter doesn't tell you how often it does it.
If it does it once every 100 minutes or something like that (ie, insanely stable), its not a porblem is it?
The guys at Skratchworx have American Audio HDT4.5 and Stanton 150 TTs reviews. Both easily played two identical vinyls for an entire side and never varied once in the 10 minutes it takes.

Well I have. I haven't just heard of them though you see I actually know people who have had TTX1s for awhile until they broke and had to be replaced with SL1200s.

i think ur talking rubbish there.
Plenty of people buy decks that arent technics and r really happy with them the basic fact is technics r a complete rip off. If ur never gonna play in a club whats the point in buying technics 90% of peoples that own decks wont ever get to play in a club so why not buy a better cheaper alternative deck to the technics.

so, if you don't play in a club, don't buy good gear and mix like shit? why buy Pioneer CDJ-100s or 200s, when you can have American Audio CDS-1s at a fractione of the price? they come with a great CUE delay feature, in which you press the pitch button and it takes it .4 seconds to start up, and now, with uberprecise +/-0.1% pitch increments, in ranges of +/-6%, +/-8% and +/-12%!!!

so what if you never play in a club? you should have good gear. if not, spinning just becomes a bitch. i learned on some Stanton STR8-80s. great pair to learn on, but after a year or so, they had shown their age and were becoming problematic. i'm not saying Techs are the only way, but most any other deck that can stand up to it is just as, if not more, expensive, so these 'cheaper alternative decks' aren't very... existent. the ones that are in fact, decent, and slightly under the Technics pricetag are beaten out completely by the Technics durability factor, where they still have to prove themselves against timeyou can save somewhere around $50US experimenting with a deck, or pay an extra $50 and get a completely sure thing. i'd rather invest once.

if you're not serious enough about spinning to buy decent stuff, you might as well just spin on your mates' stuff. that's what i've done till i can afford my own gear.

even if you don't wanna buy Techs because of the pricetag, you can get a 2nd hand pair for excellent price. you can buy 'em beat up, and fix them up. what you need is the motor to be in good shape, after that, you can change the pitch slider and all other stuff. in other words, you can buy a beat up one, make it back into the beauty it is, and might still get a better deal than the competing decks.

me? i spin CDs now... so i don't even know why i am here.

maybe i should have clarified before someone jumps on my ass, that i was refering to lower end gear...

Numark TT200
Gemini period...
Str8-80's
that kind of stuff... because we always tell people to save they're money and buy better stuff...

not that Technics is the only thing, i think the Str8-150 isnt bad, it does the job, but i just love the rock hard solid feel of Technics...

i know other things out there, for a bit less money do just as good, but its all about personal preference, and they asked for MY OPINION...
and YOUR OPINION, and EVERYONE ELSES OPINION... so dont force yours opon me...
