I just happened to read the lyrics for the first time to born slippy. I had never really listened to them before. Someone clarify, is he talking about a boy or a girl? Is this another pedophile song ? (Timo Mass - Pictures ) hehe
quote:
Drive boy dog boy dirty numb angel boy
In the doorway boy she was a lipstick boy
She was a beautiful boy and tears boy
And all in your innerspace boy you had
Hands girl boy and steel boy you had
Chemicals boy I’ve grown so close to you
Boy and you just groan boy she said
Comeover comeover she smiled at you boy.
Let your feelings slip boy but never your mask boy
Random blonde bio high density rhythm blonde boy
Blonde country blonde high density
You are my drug boy you’re real boy speak to me
And boy dog dirty numb cracking boy
You get wet boy big big time boy
Acid bear boy babes and babes and babes and
Babes and babes and remembering nothing boy.
You like my tin horn boy and get wet like an angel.
Derail.
You got a velvet mouth you’re so succulent and beautiful
Shimmering and dirty wonderful and hot times
On your telephone line and God and everything
On your telephone and in walk an angel.
And look at me your mom squatting pissed in
A tube hole at tottenham court
Road I just come out of the ship
Talking to the most blonde I ever met.

iirc the original born slippy didn't have the vocals in, the 1996 version did & they were (if im not mistaken) written specifically to fit in with the trainspotting movie, so thats probably where they're from.

the lyrics are about Karl Hyde (singer of underworld) problem with alcoholism
when the track got big and the track was used a drinking song (because of the "lager, lager, lager" hook) karl became pissed

I was always under the impression it was about masturbation.
And it wasn't re-written for the Trainspotting soundtrack.
This tune is a classic, plus i never knew there was a non vocal version did Underworld do any other realeases rather than " Born Slippy " or is that the only production they did?

I'm curious as to if there is anyone out there who does not like this song.
I think it's overplayed and needs at least a short burial. Probably 80% of the shows I've been to, this song has been played on the decks. Every DJ seems to feel that they can throw it on at any time and fill the floor with it. I would love to be able to go to a live venue and not hear this song for a change. The constant playing of it has really made me hate the song and the worship of it by those who then turn and mock others for their worship of an "equivilant" song screams of hipocracy.
I love bashing this song because I know so many people hold it dear

The original instrumental version (Born Slippy) has nothing in common with the later made vocal version (Born Slippy.NUXX). It sounds completely different and has a whole another melody going. To me the original is better than the overplayed and overremixed .NUXX version.
