sup guys,
was wondering if the numark TT-200 is any good for scratching. I heard that they have torque which can be compared to the sl-1200 but also heard that if you scratch so much with them, the platter begins to wear down. Right now, i am currently mixing trance tunes via cdj equipment but would also like to buy turntables for the records which i haven't used yet and also so that i can learn some scratching for fun. Yes, i know scratchin doesnt go with trance very well. can get some scratch records from my local store down here. I have been looking at the TT-200 for some time since i am on a budget and heard they were very good for the money. So, if you guys own a TT-200 or used one before..are they any good for scratching with and will they last for at least a year?

there not really ideal for scratchin, the platter isnt really that sturdy! but that doesnt mean its not possible
probably one of the better tt's in the price range though!
u should save up a bit more and get tech's if you can.

i wouldnt really compair any Numark table to a 1200 sorry m8....
so i would agree just save your cash, and do some basic scratching right now on your CDJs...
it will all make since once you use the higher grade turntables...

Thanks for the replies. I do have the money for two technics 1200s mk2 but my mom does not at all want me to deplete my savings account. I worked HARD for that $cash$ and i cant spend it on the things that i want most. Talk about ownage. . Well, guess all will come in due time.
Plus...maybe learning to mix with a lower end TT would be better since i would learn how to correct the pitch goin off which would be make mixin on a tech more easier. Know how to mix pretty good with cdj but i know for a fact that it is way different when it comes to vinyl.
HAHA, should buy some crappy ass belt drive TT and scratch with that so that i wont mess up the TT-200s if i do get them.

have you thought about trading your mum in? only jokin mate.
i think they definately would last for a year, but dont be under the illusion that they will do the job as as good as tech's! theres a reason that the tech's cost about double the price, because they work!
but if you really cant stretch your budget then they arent that bad a deck for learning on!
