Who's in Charge of NO Reconstruction? Why, none other than Rove!

Unmotherfuckingbelievable. Of all the fucking people to put in charge of this mess - Bush assigns his #1 political assassin on the job?

So now we know this will become completely and fully politized. Just what our country needs. Thanks Bush, you cute little fucking "uniter" you:

quote:
...Republicans said Karl Rove, the White House deputy chief of staff and Mr. Bush's chief political adviser, was in charge of the reconstruction effort, which reaches across many agencies of government and includes the direct involvement of Alphonso R. Jackson, secretary of housing and urban development

Isn't Rove a wee bit busy right now trying to save his ass elsewhere?

Operation Reconstruct-New-Orleans-By-Smearing-Everyone-Or-Deflecting-All-Blame-Away-From-Bush is now in full swing. First to blame - the local government.

-check.

Next, uh, environmentalists?:

quote:

The federal government is trying to find evidence of any past efforts by environmental groups to block work on New Orleans' levees, according to a published report.

The Clarion-Ledger said Friday it obtained an internal Justice Department e-mail sent out this week to U.S. attorneys that asks: "Has your district defended any cases on behalf of the (U.S.) Army Corps of Engineers against claims brought by environmental groups seeking to block or otherwise impede the Corps work on the levees protecting New Orleans? If so, please describe the case and the outcome of the litigation." [...]

Shown a copy of the email, David Bookbinder, senior attorney for Sierra Club, said: "Why are they (Bush administration officials) trying to smear us like this?"

The Sierra Club and other environmental groups had nothing to do with the flooding that resulted from Hurricane Katrina that killed hundreds, he said.

"It's unfortunate that the Bush administration is trying to shift the blame to environmental groups," he said. "It doesn't surprise me at all."

It's not like Rove will be the guy actually doing anything; I'm assuming this task will be delegated. If things start going terribly wrong, Rove's name could pop up again.

I hear alot of complaining about Bush's buddys getting rebuilding contracts; I'd love to see how federal contraction has goneout over president's of differing parties. I imagine the presidents friends get the contracts, regardless of party.

Now why is it everytime I mention Rove being involved in something you have to chime in how "off base" I am? It's right fucking there in the paper that says he's going to be in charge, Q, so how the fuck am I "off base" when it states his involvement in black and white?

What is your fetish with defending this guy? Name me ONE fucking constructive thing Rove has EVER done without deliberately tearing down or sliming the opposition.

Just one thing will do.

Give it a fucking rest, twit. When you read a story that mentions "Republicans" in repudable papers like the NYTimes, WaPost, WSJ, LaTimes, etc., that usually means anonymoty, like you see here in the paragraphs leading up to that one:

quote:
Instead, administration officials and a Republican close to the White House said Mr. Bush would offer some general principles about "building a better New Orleans" with stricter construction standards to try to avoid a replay of the recent catastrophe. Republicans said Mr. Bush would not mention a price tag, in large part because of budget and political pressures from House Republicans and other supporters angry about administration spending.

Republicans said Karl Rove, the White House deputy chief of staff and Mr. Bush's chief political adviser, was in charge of the reconstruction effort, which reaches across many agencies of government and includes the direct involvement of Alphonso R. Jackson, secretary of housing and urban development.

They don't want to be named for a reason, and the journalists here respect that, at least for now.

So how much do you wanna bet? Why the fuck would "Republicans", esp. one close to Bush say Rove is in charge when he fucking isn't in charge?

Or are you trying to get on your cute little It's-All-A-Darn-Liberal-Media-Conspiracy horse and blame these journalists for making shit up?

How much you bettin' this time, champ?

Oh, and speaking of that darn liberal media, this is digressing a bit but I think it's worth pointing out:

quote:
That same day, CNN's parent company, Time Warner, announced the hiring of DeLay's chief of staff as a top Washington lobbyist. This news, and its timing, prompted Jeff Chester of the Center for Digital Democracy to tell the L.A. Weekly: "Time Warner aligning itself with the right-wing DeLay machine should send shudders [down] CNN and HBO."

...At least that wily old codger Sumner Redstone, head of Viacom, parent company of CBS, has admitted what everyone already knows is true: that, while he personally may be a Democrat, "It happens that I vote for Viacom. Viacom is my life, and I do believe that a Republican administration is better for media companies than a Democratic one."

...As for Immelt, he publicly wishes his MSNBC could be a clone of FNC. Not surprising, since he let his network and cable news cheerlead the run-up to the Iraqi war without ever bothering to tell viewers GE had billions in contracts pending. More than half of Iraq's power grid is GE technology.

...Disney, parent company of ABC, has turned most of its extensive radio network and owned-and-operated stations into a 24/7 orgy of right-wing talk. (Sean Hannity is their poster boy.)

http://www.laweekly.com/ink/05/43/deadline-finke.php

Big fucking liberal conspiracy, all-day, all the fucking time, right?

quote:
what boggles me is that i know you are not that stupid to fall for that crap. or maybe you're the one with Rove on the brain?

What boggles me more is how you merely handwave it away as if to say, "nope, didn't fucking happen because they're not namin' names", or "nope, didn't happen because it's a fucking liberal conspiracy".

Which one is it for you, fellow tin foil mad hatter?
