Saving money is starting to pay off, and soon Im going to get my first pair of real turntables and a mixer. Would it be worth it to buy them used? I hear technics are very reliable and long lasting, and Ill probably buy my own new mixer, so im not too worried about broken stuff.
Any idea how much money I might save buying used (in dollars please )

I bought my Techs used, and they are basically (apart from some minor paint wear on the corners) as good as new. Technics last for ages; as long as the platter still goes round then you know they are fine. This is why you will only save about $100-$150 by buying used, they hold their value.
Definitely buy a new mixer though, used mixers can be very hit and miss.

Yes definately. I just like having my stuff new though I bought my techs for 719 each a year and a half ago. I looked at the price of them today when i was in the store, and they are 749... hmmm. It seems like their price has increased here.
Its all about supply and demand I remember a few years back, technics of panasonic decided to raise the prices of technics decks.
