here is where i start

now that i saved alot of money, i wana go into the production world. i got myself iPowerbook G4, M-Audio Radium49 midi controller, and Abelton Live 5 and Acid Pro 5, what other equipments do i need ? i want to buy everything to have a full studio, so what am i still missing ?

what is the difference between MIDI Controllers and Synthesizers Workstations ? and do u have to use both of them for music production or just one of them

I dont know much about production, but in my opinion I think you shoudl start l;earnign witht he equipment yo uhave, and then you will know what will be better for you to upgrade, because witht he equipment you just got, I think you can spend a few months or a year learnign to use everything properly there.

My advice to you is that you shouldn't buy all your synths right away. Play around with sequencers until you've found one you're comfortable with, and then learn how it works - then once you have some experience composing with crappy free vsts and demo samples, you'll have a better idea of what synths you'll be most comfortable working with, and you can build your studio gradually around that.

At some point I was trying to get my hands on every piece of equipment that was reputed to be good, and now I've got a bunch of stuff that I never use.

Acid Pro does NOT work on a Mac. Perhaps Reason would be a better buy. It also works well with Ableton Live.

If you're using software synths, all you need is a midi controller. Don't worry about a workstation yet (which actually creates audio).
