Without event threads though, it might get a tad quiet in here. I mean, if you start including things like Gods, Slinky, Two Tribes, even DJ tours like Sasha etc there would be quite a few less threads.
While that might be the idea, i think it would probably cut the number too much. ANd then do people discuss or post reviews etc in that same thread? Cos it might get a bit hard to follow if people are posting reviews etc in there or people start rabbiting on about how they are all excited about an upcoming event. Or do you draw the line and say big events are allowed their own threads, while club events have to go in the group one. But then some big events are club events (Slinky for example), so where do you draw the line? And big DJ tours, for example your Darren Tate thread, where should that go? Is it going to have to be a case of people having to pm you to seek permission to post a thread on an upcoming event because they don't know which category it falls under.
Also, with the balance of Melbourne:Sydney:Adelaide events, Adelaide events especially may get lost in that thread by just being swamped by Melbourne events etc. (I'm ignoring Perth and Brisbane, because they post probably even less event threads than Adelaide, and thats bloody saying something!!)
^^Thats probably the main problem with the idea of a reference thread, that and people going "Woot, awesome!" for 5 pages after someone posts that DJ Cheesemaster Elite is touring.
I don't see too much wrong with how it is at the moment, its not as if its out of control atm, as long as people use the Self-promo thread when appropriate I don't think theres a problem.
