it seems to me that electric guitars are most prevalent in psytrance. that is because of the style's reliance on melody (which is less in trance, so you find less guitars). that said, i cant really think of too many prog house tracks that have a melody at all, let alone electric guitars. i know that unkle's 'in a state' has some guitar strumming, but im not even sure that i would call that track progressive.
