Tiesto admits defeat! Old news?

Take a look at his website...

I also just found out that I am number 2 this year in DJ Mag's top 100 list. I would have loved to be the winner for 4 years in a row but if there is one DJ who deserves it for everything he has done for dance music in the last 10 years, it's got to be Paul van Dyk. I am really happy for him and wish him all the best.

I'm not a Tiesto basher by any means...but I thought this was big news and I do think it is time for a new number one. But does paul van dyk deserve it?

No... he doesn't deserve it.
Ferry Corsten does.

Not this year, he sure as hell doesn't.

Strange how the quality of these top jocks sometime seems to run inverse to their ranking.

I think so too. But...I think that people's opinions of who should be number one, comes from the individuals taste. For instance, I don't like progressive so I don't really consider Sasha for number one.

I think they should re-word the poll. Because you CANNOT be number one in this poll without producing and becoming increasingly popular because of your productions.

Honest to god.
I thought Armin was going to win this year. His radio show combined with his booming popularity and HUGE ASS following in the United States should have made in a shoo-in for the number one deejay.
PVD is a nice pick but his live sets have been disappointing for me.
Ferry is the deejay's deejay. Respected among his peers, should have won it this year.

I would have rather seen gabriel and dresden or markus schulz in the top spot, they've done much more this year. Also, sasha will be up there in a few years when people catch on to his new techy genre.

edit: ferry is the man of course and would have been a great choice, but like pvd, not enough this year.
