oh man...tonight
wtf
so this last weekend i was in penn. watching mountain biking nationals...a friend was competing and they had room on the floor for us to sleep so we chilled for the weekend. he got word that there was some SICK party up in madison wisconsin on halloween. so we went to chicago yesterday and at like 6 tonight we headed up there
when we got there, we found out that the party was saturday
major bummer
even bigger bummer? not just a big party...we're talkin 100,000 people, 6 city blocks shut off, fuckin NUTS shit.
and we missed it
so we're driving around looking maybe for a motel just to crash out, and we're driving on some random half residential half small shop filled road and on the left we see some black and white movie projected onto the wall of the building next to it and like 10 tops people chillin outside with mad seats to spare watching it, so we slam on the breaks, pull a u-turn, park, and go chill. watched the second half of the original frankenstein outside. turns out it was some new-ish coffee shop, so we got some coffee and made small talk with the person working there
we were hanging outside for a minute smoking a cigarette when some girl joined us, then a minute or two later some guy did too. they were all talking about how much the place rocks for only opening like 1.5 months ago, and it turns out that it was the owner, and a friend of his/regular customer we were chillin with. 10 minutes later, about 11:30 (shop closes at midnight), mutual friend of their shows up and we're all just chillin and talking about random ass shit. the mutual friend's a dj, spins a lot of hard trance, but does everything else from hip hop to ambient. 6 of us (me and two friends, them three) all having a good time. shops closing in 10 minutes, they're talkin about chillin out in the shop afterhours and drinkin some, they invite us
we end up staying till about 3 just chilling and talking
listened to some good music, drank a bunch, and ended up listening to a mitch hedburg cd till we couldn't handle it cause we were laughing so fucking hard
chillest fucking coffee joint i've ever been to. they had an art gallery in the works in the back, mad roomy, comfy chairs, mad board games and shit, guitars just to play or w/e, few bongas and shit, fuckin sweet ass place
so yeah, we chilled there till pretty late, then they gave us a recommendation on a $40/night motel a lil ways away, where i am now
so yeah...we missed the party, but i had like the sweetest fuckin night ever
also, as a point of conversation...we were hanging out in the university of wisconsin campus for a while. now i'd say that the girls were good looking, but that wouldn't do it justice
in about an hour, there were maybe 4 girls we saw that you wouldn't just instantly say 'i'd hit that' as she passed to. i dont fucking get it. every damn girl was fucking hot as hell
