SATURDAY: Fame, Alex Pearce @ Avalon - A Night of The Dirtiest House Music in NYC

RETOX NYC Presents:

Mass Events would like to invite you for a night of the dirtiest house music in NYC with Fame, Alex Pearce, Eric Martinez, and Andrew Vogt.
Join us this Saturday for a closing party to the holiday weekend. See below for guestlist sign up.:

Fame (Simply Bangin')
The enduring passion DJ Fame has for all genres of music stems not just from the influence of his friends and artists he admires, but also from his youth. Amos Damon (DJ Fame) was actively involved in the school band, chorus and keyboard club. Although he quickly impressed his musical instructors with his natural ability to write and read music as well as play it, Fame recognized that these activities would not last forever and searched for other outlets for his creativity. In his early teens, he was introduced to electronic dance music and realized how important the dj was to the party. Fame took notice of each dj’s technical abilities and styles, but above all, he learned about controlling the crowd. Just as with all music, he mastered the art of the dj with fervor, and DJ Fame was born.

The past decade has been highlighted with various performances by Fame as he continued to harness the inimitable skills that, combined, created today’s final product. This creation is Fame’s unique blend of hard, funky tech-house synthesized with cuts, scratches and turntable tricks that has been showcased at clubs and parties around the globe. From his residency at New York’s premier underground venue, Sullivan Room, to guest sets in every corner of America, the Dominican Republic, Europe, and Russia, DJ Fame continues to keep dance floors moving ‘til the lights come up.

What Fame has achieved through these experiences is a bold display of energy, illuminating stage presence and a rightfully-earned air of confidence that sets him apart from so many peers and makes him truly one of the hottest young talents on the dance scene. Between his hectic touring schedule for the future, his various radio show appearances, and with an arsenal of productions ready for release in the coming year, Fame may give new meaning to his namesake in ’06.

Alex Pearce (Sullivan Room, Movida)
Alex Pearce loves house music. His involvement in the New York underground electronic music scene includes gigs at some of the city's best venues as well as his own production company, FTWK (For Those Who Know). As a DJ, Alex spins various types of house: funky, tribal and progressive, with some clear tech and trance influences, to create a unified sound meant to "challenge the audience's ear and make the crowd want to dance their ass off." His ability to read the vibe of the crowd and build his set accordingly, a talent that has been instrumental in his success throughout the scene no matter size, crowd, or time slot.
Alex began playing out here in New York City frequently and successfully, with a residency at Liquids in the East Village; Since then he's held residences at both Delft and the Future Progression loft (futureprogression.com). Recently, Alex started a monthly residency at the newly renovated Sullivan Room after the success of his FTWK parties there. Pearce's initiative in both promoting and playing New York has led to a diverse list of club appearances, from such smaller, quality venues as Abaya, Bauhaus, and Le Souk to big rooms such as the Discoteque, Centro-Fly, the Lunitarium, and the Roxy. He has opened for, or played alongside, such world-class talent such as Peace Division, Max Graham, Ferry Corsten, Charles Feelgood, Demi (Deeper Substance), Danny "Buddha" Morales and Luis Diaz. He's also been a frequently featured guest on Victor Dinaire's XM radio show Resident Nation, broadcast globally on satellite radio.
Alex's can do aesthetic extends beyond the DJ booth. His involvement in all aspects of the club experience adds to the success of his parties. From his early experience promoting for Destiny Productions in Toronto, to running the Kinetic Street team in New York, Alex realizes that a crucial element of a successful party is the crowd. He became involved behind the scenes, as well, organizing parties such as the Tribalism party at Centro-fly and becoming a partner ofthe Touched by a DJ production company. This culminated in founding of FTWK, which continues to produce quality parties and events throughout New York.
Alex first discovered his love of electronic music in at a rave in Toronto. "The combination of the energy of the music, the decor, and the crowd created one moment that changed my life. I knew right then that this was the life I was meant to be a part of." Soon Alex became immersed in its club scene, working as a promoter for Destiny Productions. Recently he has signed with flawless nightlife and he looks to push forward with gigs around the city and the world.
For the boy who loves house music, getting into the scene to share that love with a crowd from week to week is what keeps all of us dancing.
