I have been an avid EDM listener for years. House and breakbeat (and some electro) is what I love. Every time I go to a club now it seems they're playing the same electro shit. I have even spoken to old highschool friends who weren't interested in the slightest in EDM, now they love Electro. Why is this crap taking over?

You're likely alluding to electroclash or ghetto techno/electro like DJ Deeon. He's pretty cool though.
