Issues with Xone 62 Record Out...

I'm currently trying to record from my Xone 62 to an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile that is connected to an iBook G4 running Felt Tip Sound Studio v. 2.2.2, and for some reason, even when I have levels all in the green on my mixer, the volume level spikes to the red in the recording software.

I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the volume on the record out on my mixer, and honestly, I'm not even sure that I can. I was so used to using the booth out on my DJM to record, and being able to control that level, that I can't seem to get around this. I definitely read through the manual and couldn't find anything, and beyond that I couldn't seem to get an answer on the A&H forums, so I'm hoping someone here has an easy fix.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it, even if it means using different software or whatever.

Thanks in advance. Peace, Cheers,

RJT

Re: Issues with Xone 62 Record Out...

You can't adjust the record out on the mixer other than your channel faders and input gains. That being said, I record off my Xone 92 into an M-Audio firewire audiophile on an iBook running Sound Studio (sound familar?)... but my levels are fine. You aren't connecting the mixer to the mix input of the m-audio box are you? I assume you are using regular RCA cables?

and your not using the booth output of the 62 for what reason?

also, try assigning the level control on the m-audio box to the input, not the output, and adjust it

Well right now, because I don't have the cables to do it (I just need to get 1/4 -> RCA converters from Radioshack), but will soon, because that's a sweet idea and I feel like an idiot for not figuring it out...

I guess it just seems like the record out peaks at real low levels... I have everything eq'd quite low in the green, and it still spikes... But if I use the booth out I'll have control over it all

Hooray...!
