i saw someone post a Deep Dish release in February on the board..

which, if true, should be an excellent GU release

Deep Dish again?

Although I really liked Warren's latest effort it must be said that the GU series has gone downhill lately. Looks like a best of "deep dish, nick warren and james lavelle" comilation series. Balance and Renmissance have released way better mixes recently.

Not rly.

Gu27 > balance 008
gu28 > balance 008
Lo3 > balance 008

The last 2 GUs have been amazing and all the non GUXX releases have been awesome as well.

FUndacion, Lights out Three, etc.

I think tenaglia needs to do another one.

o rly?

I agree with Shanghai beating Desyn's Balance, but other than that....NJET. GU 27, although by one of my fav. Djs, has done nothing to me...huge disappointment. It didn't create and convey a unique atmosphere as for example Shanghai, just funky-chilly music to have running while driving, but nothing special.

Lights Out 3 wasnt that awesome either...I just dont understand how they always stick to the sam 4, 5 DJs. How about Hernan Cattaneo for once? Tengalie would be a great idea, too. Really love his London mix.

Every label sticks to the same djs for the most part. shit, cattaneo has 2 master series discs.

I thought 27 was awesome, in fact better than 28.. but all of those destroyed desyns balance.. and lights out three, probably the worst of these three imo, but then fundacion was awesome for me, i dig that style, a lot of people dont.

I just cant sell out gu. they release solid comps.

really?

cause I have GU 17 and his back to mine mix, and it has some nice tunes but i just cant stand the bunch of arabian etnic vocal sounds and bongo/congo indian style tracks

Yeah thats definetley a personal opinion thing.. but ill tell you for the first 3, 4 months of having 17 i was unimpressed, then with each listen i would kida discover these little interesting bits, and then they all sort of moulded into one big interesting bit...
