NDP raffle prize — a trip to visit Martin's ships

OTTAWA — The NDP has announced a contest designed to embarrass Prime Minister Paul Martin and reward someone with an all-expense-paid trip for two to an exotic locale.
The destination is anywhere Martin's family-owned Canada Steamship Lines has registered its ships.
It takes a little bit of detective work to win, by coming up with Martin quotes on a variety of topics.
The NDP website offers the following preamble for the contest: ``Are Paul Martin's new values real, or convenient? Is the Liberal party really what it was, or is everything a game to them now to try (to) manipulate people just long enough to get their vote?
"It's time voters played back with the great Paul Martin credibility hunt."
The six possible destinations for the winner are the Bahamas, Cyprus, Liberia, Malta, Panama and Vanuatu — places were CSL Ltd. flags some of its ships.
"We're giving away return airfare and hotel accommodation to any country Paul Martin used to avoid Canadian taxes, labour laws and environmental regulations while he was finance minister," the party says.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
On the surface, the contest seems humorous, but its aim is to anchor the NDP's message: Martin says one thing but does another.
"Martin has values of convenience that have changed over time," says party strategist Brad Lavigne.
this is pretty damn funny, I'll admit...though you have to wonder if the Liberals pulled something like this if they'd be criticized as arrogant and condescending, lol.
great way to get people to check out their site too, I suppose.

that's just a good business plan. Why pay here, when it's cheaper somewhere else?

NDP has to stop putting down the Liberals and concentrate on the issues of the elections.
We already know that the Liberal's are sketchy as fuck but seriously, if we want to choose another party then NDP should concentrate on why they are good and not why the others are bad.

I guess mom forgot to tell them "if you can say something nice, don't say anything at all".
2 more years and we are like the south koreans, big ol bench clearing brawls! Might as well put up a big glass wall in the house now.

who can really argue with that...except when you're in a conflict of interest situation as part of the gov't and whose party is amending regulations to suit your business interests. That's where he's getting nailed.
Calling him "unpatriotic" is silly...it's clearly a money issue...it's creating the loophole himself that's the issue.
so who's entering the contest? I know that with all the Liberal bashers on here, they probably have the necessary quotes already bookmarked somewhere, lol.

omg...that's hilarious!
I have to agree with SP, they need to be convincing others about their own platform rather than trying to ride the tide (bad pun?) of the Liberal descension...

I suspect you confuse neoconservatism with paleoconservatism.
