Thumbs up Recording mix to cd help

Ok i just purchased a cd recorder and a technics amp. I also recieved about 20 pairs of red and white wires. Can any-one help and tell me how i can connect the two together and also connect these two to my mixer so i can basically hear my turntables play out of the amp and be able to record what i play. Thanks so much if you can help in any-way. Burnham

there are different ways to set this up, depending on your amp and mixer. I will assume that your mixer has 2 outputs. Then you run your TTs into the mixer, and from the output of the mixer (line out or tape out) to the amp, any line-in (tape-in/cd-in/whatever, NOT phono).
Take another pair of cables and go from the other output from your mixer to the CD recorder (in). In case your mixer has only one output, go to the amp like I said before, but then connect the amp (tape/rec out) to your CD recorder (in).
Last one is from your CD recorder (out) to your Amp (in).
Oh and generally the red cable is the right stereo channel and the white is left, but it really doesn't matter
hope this helps

umm i could be wrong here but doesn't he have to record it to his hard drive (via line in) first then burn it? A cd-r/rw is not like a tape deck where you can hit recoerd ya know? Tempez

Far as i know there is no such thing as a cd recorder in the sense of the way a tape deck functions. That what i based my response on. Correct me if i'm wrong.

what do you mean "got something for the pc"???

if you are talking about CD writers (PC), then you need to have the material on your harddrive first.

But burns said he bought a cd recorder...which is something different.

Not to many people know about CD recorders. I'm the only one that has one around where I live. You'd think more people would've heard of em'. Anyways, I prefer to record my mix on a mini disc and then to CD. For some reason I just find it easier to record on an MD from my turntables than to CD (Maybe I'm just wierd ).

No such thing as a CD recorder, The best way to do it is record it to a D.A.T. (Digital audio tape i think is what it stans for). But this would mean you would have to buy another piece of equip. Than you would upload it to your hard drive threw your sound card. This way you won't lose that digital sound. Sony makes a great D.A.T. player.
If you want to spend more money, its worth it.
