And the winner is ... Elle McPherson.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson has been voted Australia's hottest babe ever.

Mens magazine FHM has selected the top 50 hot Aussie babes for its latest edition - among them Sigrid Thornton, Marcia Hines, Lynda Stoner and Germaine Greer.

"It's not easy to reduce over 200 years of gorgeous Australian women down to a top 50 but, in the end, it simply had to be done," said FHM deputy editor Ben Smithurst.

"We love a sunburnt country, but not as much as we love the women who live here. I don't think any country in the world could compete with Australia, and Australian women."

Coming in second on the list was pop princess Kylie Minogue, followed by Delvene Delaney, Jana Wendt, Jennifer Hawkins, Sandra Sully, Natalie Imbruglia, Chrissie Amphlett, Jo Beth Taylor and Olivia Newton John.

Others on the list, in stores on February 6, include Sarah O'Hare, Nicole Kidman, Rose Byrne, Lisa Curry-Kenny, Belinda Green, Rachel Ward, Abigail and Lady Sonia McMahon.

I think its rated on the fact that shes been a modelling icon in Australia for a long time.. you know 'the body' and she does have 'the body'. I mean shes in her 40s and shes had kids and she still looks like a million bucks. Maybe not the hottest now but over time and up against women like germaine greer shes hot.

Sarah Jessica Parker has very odd looks. Girls only like her because she wears designer clothes and shit. Jennifer Hawkins is just like any semi good looking Australia with a little ass. Elle is a woman and oozes sex appeal. I guess I am taking her as a person into consideration aswell but that is part of what makes her sexy to me. Maybe we just have different taste in women. I'd put my money on Elle being better in the sack too.....experience

fair nuff charlee, i see your point. but as soon as i read "elle shits on jennifer hawkins" something within me boiled to the surface and i felt obligated to defend my jen err i mean her.

when my gf revealed she had crushes both on witch-face sjp and delta eww-NO goodrem, i lost all faith in the female judgement of "hot" girls.
