[PSYTRANCE] Progsimity - (Axolotyl Remix)

Heya,

This is a remix of a track by PsyOps, one of the producers from the Australiens forums. The original was quite minimal and progressive, hence the name. My remix is more dark full-on with plenty of acidy synths on top.

Hope you enjoy!

Great track, not the biggest fan of Psy trance but i really like this song.

I really liked the power in many powers and the various sounds used, again nothing to add really, just great.

Though just thought that small intro could be better, sounds unprofessional compared to the rest of the track.

It's pretty good, but it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. Just like one long intro.

mind bending intro. kewl start. good use of sfx... can't say ive heard the original... lyrics are kinda weird me likes. some pretty intense noise synths you got goin on.... overall pretty good stuff... i was expecting some pitch bending and stuff...but... i guess not...

sounds good for the dancefloor, not so good for the casual listener.

This is a freaky tune

-Those high echoing drips could have the echo length/feed back extended. (just at the beginning)
-Awesome bass drum!
-The deep ping ponging distorted grunts are menacing...
----------------------------------
2nd quarter:
-The drips mix in well later.
-awesome fx frequencies...
-----------------------------------
Middle:
-love those mid phasing fx (best part of the tune - i was totally getting into it)
-great layering
----------------------------------
Second half:
-Similar to the first half.
-beat change / bass change (shortened) makes for an interesting change.
-The hihats are weak & could be louder. This could help drive harder.
-A little repetitive.
---------------------------------

This is a kickarse remix Axolotyl. It has definitely strayed from being a minimal progressive track. This IS full on dark psy!! & I love it.

Thanks for sharing man.

Hi AXO

Nice intro.Trip to galaxy !
I like the kick a lot.It has the right tone and volume.Bass is ok not something that can attract you but its good.Maybe I would prefer it more louder...The scratches that begun at 1:45 are the heart of the track for me.Specially at 2:35 are wonderfull and trippy

Very cool change from the bass at 4:00.Good good. (I'm dancing..hihi)

These scratches are all the money pal. This track is really groovey.Try it with the bass at higher level or with some more filter and could be real killer.

I'm gonna listen it again.

Ciao

Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated!

@Psygnosis - Thanks mate, glad you liked it! Yeah the intro is a bit weak, or different really. I'm pretty bad with intros to be honest, they kind of bore me and I always end up rushing them. Glad you like the rest though!

@Aquarian - Yes again with the intro feel. Theres definately something going on with it... hmm. Its not the usual intro/verse/chorus type of track I guess but I know what you mean. Thanks for listening mate.

@canadian didjer - You probably wouldnt have heard the original, was just an forum remix thing over at australiens.net (good aussie psy forum btw). Yes, very night time dancefloor oriented I guess. Lyrics are from the original and had to stay I thought since most other things (kick, bass, synths) had been changed.

@Xenocreator_PG_ - Awesome review man, thanks for taking the time! Really glad you liked it. Good ideas re the drips and high hats. Will give that a go. A lot of those really cool fx are from the original actually.

@Sparkunian - Cheers Sparko! Yeah glad you liked it. Yes, the bassline is kind of thin. A lot of dark psy music uses this sort of bass, so I thought it might work. I might try raising it a tad though. Thanks for listening mate =)

once or twice the song gets too laid back and sparse for my taste at first.

and some of the effects are a bit too cheery sounds for psy IMO.

but that riff around 2:40 in is shockingly good. nice and swishy.

a different sort of psy track, and i like it. powers down nicely at the end too.

got some talent bro.

Nice kick/bass combo.

Effects all fit well.

After a while this track starts banging and doesn't want to stop. Excellent.

Thanks for the feedback guys, appreciate you taking the time to listen.

@Caleb - Thanks for the review, glad you liked it. Hehe, didnt think too much of it was cheery. I guess you mean the samples as opposed to the synths and fx?

@Jex - Yep, shes a banger alright. Pretty kappy with the kickbass too. Thats half the battle won in a psy track... imho. Thanks for taking the time dude =)
