The Trance Awards 2006 is a celebration of the biggest and the best in the world of trance from the past 12 months. Featuring 15 categories voted for by the public via online portal www.tranceawards.com the Trance Awards 2006 is set to be the biggest date on the global trance calendar.

Promoted by the UK’s premier dance music download portal trackitdown.net in conjunction with the biggest club promoter on the planet; Godskitchen (promoters of the 50,000 capacity Global Gathering festival), alongside Mixmag the dance music bible and the world’s leading dance music TV channel MTV Dance this year’s Trance Awards features partnerships with some of the biggest players in dance!

With last years debut awards seeing thousands of votes coming in from over 100 countries and with the ceremony taking place at south coast super club Slinky, this year’s awards already features a star studded cast including Radio 1’s Judge Jules who will be presenting the awards ceremony!

This years event was launched on the 4th February at Godskitchen with voting now taking place online at www.tranceawards.com and closing at the end of April, leading up to the grand awards ceremony on Saturday 27th May at Godskitchen in Birmingam.

With this years celebration looking set to be much bigger and better, this is YOUR chance to vote for your favourite movers and shakers in the world of trance!

yikes, do people really care about the bigness credentials?

name dropping godskictchen, mixmag, mtv, trackitdown, yikes. Are we really this obsessesed with massiveness? Is this what trance is really about? Honestly, who is really impressed by this kind of stuff?

Superclubs and big media, are they really things to be proud of? I dunno, that post sounded really bad form to me. I wonder if we really need all these brand names.

i was going to vote, but then i realized that my votes wouldn't really matter since i wouldn't vote for some combination of vandit and ASOT...

Just....wow. It's not a value judgment for anything, it's just someone wanting to wedge himself into a media middleman position. The answer to the question nobody asked. I wouldn't be surprised if this thing is run by the marketing wing of Vandit or Black Hole Recordings. It's got no authority, validity or respect since its aim is not to genuinely award the best, but to promote itself and those who sponsor it. It's not an Awards Show, it's a Commercial Advertisement. You'd feel less cheated if you got your trance from some billboard on the highway.

This would be like.....if there were a World's Best Restaurant Awards, sponsored by McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, etc.......

Is this another one of those competitions where Tiesto beats Armin and Armin freaks out and copies Tiesto even more ?

why have you to vote for the big ones even there´s a lot of great Newcomers around with Tracks, Radioshows and so on??

no, it's one where tiesto wins best remixer & Paul Van Dyk wins best producer. And it's sponsored by both black hole & vandit. Who'd have guessed it!
