Are there too many mix CDs nowadays???

I think there bloody well are! Its a shame, there's not enough decent music around to fill all these CDs and they never last that long in my CD player. Think Holdens Balance was the only one i've bought in the last 2 years that i still listen to now.

Your thoughts?

Not really, no.

However, I do think there are way too many digital "labels" selling inferior music but that has nothing to do with this thread, so...

You just have to weed through all the crap (read: ASOT 2005 and all similar cds). Maybe cruise discogs searching for artists/djs that you like.

There aren't too many mix cd's. You can never have too many. But a lot of the big name artists put out mix cd's with the same tracks the other's are putting on theirs. We need more variety. This is a genre where new tracks come out almost on a daily basis. There is no reason to not have a totally different sound then the next guy on your mix cd.

yeah, its absolutely horrible when a dj takes tunes i havent heard mixes them together. i hate it. i hate it when i have new cds to play in the car.

The more music the better, quality people will put out quality music, if the mixes suck maybe your taste in music sucks

Seriously!

Theres so much music out there...and so many crap mix CD's coming out with the same recycled shit...I think that is the bigger problem.

Theres tons of great music out there if you look for it.

I agree. Although one could say that there's too many totally shitty tracks being released (somewhat like Mr. Mystery said), you can never have enough mix albums being pumped out.

Too many labels or music??? I don't get it, usually it's better if there's more music to choose from. If you don't like something you don't have to buy it, simple as that.
