any ITunes shoppers?

i've a gig Saturday week and i want to take my new CDJs instead of turntables. im currently shopping for house mp3s and im gettin all the commercial tracks on Itunes. however im unsure about the quality of the sound. i took this off the help section:

"Purchased songs are encoded using MPEG-4 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format, a high-quality format that rivals CD quality. Songs purchased and downloaded from the Music Store are AAC Protected files and have a bitrate of 128 kilobits per second (kbit/s). The file extension is .m4p."

is 128kbits per second in this format the same as a 128kbit mp3?

very confused - help appreciated

Just use Beatport, they have a good house selection. If you can't find any there, try AudioJelly. They both have 320kbps MP3s.

128 kbits/sec aac is not the same as a 128 kbits/sec mp3, the aac file will sound better than the mp3. However I think most people will agree that a 128 kbit/sec aac file is not great quality, high bit rate mp3s will sound better. I would not play those aac files out if I could avoid it.

how would 128kbit aac sound compared to say a 192kbit mp3? 192 is do-able for me
