First mix
....EQing is perfect, beatmatching is bang on.....the anticipation is building up, I know something is coming in the first 30 minutes of the set. The first 10 do a great job at foreshadowing this...
Not a huge fan of the 8 bit techy sound @ around 10, but that is just my taste...
Second Mix
....is nice and edgey. Incoming track seems to come in with a bit too much in the mids, but seems to fix itself. The transition out seems a little forced, would have liked to hear the previous track fade out a little longer.
ooooooooo, Shog Remix....this should be nice and Trancey... ...this sure has the Shog sound to it, loving this track!
Third Mix
....just ever so slightly off at the start....gets really quiet...the previous track seems to die early, leaving only the highs from the next one coming in. Mix wasn't terrible, just seems like the mix was late or the two tracks don't work too well...
Pretty sure this is an oldie, like the slightly dated sound it has...
Fourth Mix
....comes in nice and smooth, great work on the EQ and gain levels, heard it come out slightly, but barely noticeable. Very solid mix. Comes out a bit near the end of the transition...but once again, you're there to fix it...
OOOOO, Aled Mann....nice choice....anything Sean Tyas lately is just banging, this should be a treat. Not much energy throughout the set so far, most of these songs seem to have loads of 'quiet' moments that just leave me waiting....hopefully the last half picks up.
Fifth Mix
....Starts off perfectly, heard it come out slightly. OOOoo, gain seems to be way down on the incoming track, you seemed to kill most of the gain on the outgoing track too. Rough mix, seems you may have mixed that one a little late.
Nice techy edge to this track, am still hoping for some tech trance, at least that is what the mood is telling me...
Sixth Mix
....comes in smoooooooth, and perfectly beatmatched. Seems like the gain level dipped in the mix though, then it seems fine once the track kicks in. Are you playing with the LOW EQ? Seems like you might be killing it and then bringing it in right at the end of the mix.
The mixes so far are great, you seem to bring the track in at the right time (barring a mix or two) and when the new track is ready to kick in, you do it well.
Seventh Mix
....seems the track came in a bit late....what happened to the gain on the incoming track. Gets way to low.....and it sounds like its no longer beatmatched (in the background...)....might just be the song though...yep, it's the sound.....kinda weird, sounds like a mini beatmatched, out of phase trainwreck in the background...
Love this track, little slow, I would jack it up....PvD style, but still great track...
Eighth Mix
....Nice, songs work very well together, nice length in the transition, EQing seems off a bit, like you are cutting out too much at once and adding too much at the same time (on the two channels). Beatmatching was bang on...
Ninth Mix
....Hmmm, interesting. Next track sounds really really dark, loving the deep tribal beats. Mixing is perfect! EQing is stellar, gain right at the end of the mix might be a tad louder than what was the peak of the previous song..........but wow, I love this...
Oh Boy.......this is EDGEY TECH TRANCE........LOVING IT!!!
Tenth Mix
....Wow, at first I hadn't even realized you were mixing, until I heard the faint vocal "Questions....."....great beatmatching, EQing is great....song seems to end abruptly (previous one that is...). Very solid mix.
Eleventh Mix
....Coming in nicely...has a sweeping sound that I feel doesn't fit. Beatmatching is bang on, but you seemed to jack up the GAIN on the incoming track right near the end of the transition.
Techy oriental sound to it, neat and refreshing...
Twelfth Mix
....Seemed to be a bit off at the start....you might have brought it in too soon. Killed the LOWs on the outgoing track a little too soon, was too dry a cut.
Overall Impression
Set progressed extremely well, from trancey to edgey techy trancey tunes. Loved the progression, however, there was a lack of energy throughout the entire set. It felt like the set could have been jacked up a few BPM. Beatmatching on a whole was superb, only a few times did it come apart, but you fixed it quickly. No trainwrecks, and that is impressive for an 80 minute mix. EQing and Gains definitely need some work during the transitions. Seems you are very sudden in your changes, and that breaks the flow of the transition.
Thanks for providing me with the mix, hope I wasn't too harsh at any time. I could tell from the first mix you had skill, so I decided to do a thorough review, including more than just the usual beatmatching advice people receive.
....on my god, this is my longest reply ever!

Wow, alefort....now that is what i call a review.
Thanks for the comments, you seem to have studied each transition very well!
My eq'ing does need a little bit of tweaking, but ive been trying to work on this for the past few weeks, and its getting much better, also it tidys up the mixes more.
During that mix i did miss a few cuepoints, but i think i did recover well, and it didnt interupt the flow that noticebly, also i realised halfway through the set that this isnt fast enough, mabye i should have jacked the first record up a bit!
Usually when im mixing more techier tunes, i like shorter cleaner transitions by punching them in then working the Eq. and when im mixing uplifting stuff i like to keep them locked together for longer.
But thanks for the review, it was good, and i shall bear in mind the comments u made.

listened on the way home from work fella, not a bad effort at all.
Beatmatching was pretty much spot on except for a couple of slight drifts, but as stated before, they were corrected quite quickly. The only other thing, and maybe this is just down to my opinion, I think throughout the cd there wasn't enough progression, the mix seemed to stay at a similar pitch throughout, and the style of tracks, didnt really change too much. As alefort said, it kept building and building, but never seemed to get there, if you see what i mean.
Keep it up though, you're more than capable

Thanks mate, yeah....i didnt realise until near the end of the mix that the tracks were still at a similar pitch, i thought to myself "this is a bit slow", but it was to late!
and could have thrown in a suprise or to, and could of ended on a bit of a cresendo.
but thankyou for the comments.
