id have to say, the most addicting game EVER is RaptorL Call of the Shadows.... its this old skool top-down plane shooter that gets better each time you play it. its fun, and you can BUY BETTER WEAPONS!!!! (this, IMO, is the best quality in ANY game, i can get hooked if my stuff can get better. ) So if you havent yet, go get it NOW!

random observation: i've noticed, bick, that you seem to try to "animate" yourself by putting action words inside of asterisks.. huh.

Yea, it's habit. I'm an online roleplayer and that is how we seperate the words of our characters from what they are doing *smiles and shrugs* Difficult to drop it, besides, I think it adds a little depth to the typed words since you can't see the person's facial expressions or body language.

I'm quite the Strikers '45 fan! I imported the Saturn copy of the game and utilize the Saturn's 2D boosting RAM cart to play that game. I just think it's so perfectly balanced. Want to douse things with nasty firepower? Go with the P38. Want crazy speed and meneuverability? Go with the Shinden. What's cool is that each plane really changes the way you have to play the game. You can't expect to play the game and be competitive by using the same style.
The interesting thing is that for me, it comes back to trance. There's something that I call a "shooter's groove" where no matter the number of bullets, enemies, and debris coming your way in a shooter, you're just in a groove and you manage to avoid it all. You feel absolutely invincible. The interesting thing is that if I put on a solid trance set while playing strikers, that only serves to enhance or help me slip into that groove. It's akin to weaving in and out of cars while driving and listening to a pumping set. It's like your actions FEED off of the music you're listening to which elevates the experience to a whole new place.
If you can appreciate old-school style shooters, you owe it to yourself to give this a try. *winks and chuckles*

Damn right... I loved them all. Golden Axe 1 and 2 on the Genesis owned a significant part of my life. Double Dragon was great, I especially liked 2. And Ninja Gaiden, quite possibly one of the coolest titles I've ever played. 'Member those cut scenes they used to move the story along? I think that was one of the first times that sequences like that had ever been used in a game. It's crazy how much it enhanced the whole package. Give me a PS2/GC update of that, please!
