Hi everyone, i thought i might include some of my opinions about Iran since i am Persian and understand quite a bit what the Iranians are going through which doesn't get publisized.

To the Iranians here, whats with defending the Iranian government, do you even know how much suffering the Iranian people have done under the mullahs in the past 27 years or so?

Prior to the 1979 Revolution, Britain had a share in the oil stakes in which they took it away from the people from Iran, in which the Iranian people protested and Mossadegh was brought in only to have Britain despise him and try to over throw him with CIA operatives.

You must also understand that America liked Mossadegh, and America had good relations with Iran, but when they back stabbed the Iranian people when they teamed with Britian to kick out Mossadegh who was nationalising the oil for the people in which Britain didn't want. When the 1979 revolution came, the mullahs promised the Iranian people that under their law, they will benefit from oil profits and will never go hungry and will never suffer again.

When people opposed the Americans with the hostage kidnappings and the election of the mullahs was successful, all the promises they made quickly disappeared. When the Iraq-Iran war started, who do you think the mullahs of Iran were helping? Iraq! You see everyone in Iran knows this and i don't know why many Iranians and Americans don't but it was ploy by the Iranian government to kill off as many young Iranians in the war as much as they could!

You see, the Iranian government had a feeling that they were a threat to their stand and so forth, every single Iranian was brainwashed into thinking it was the right thing to do. In the Iran-Iraq war, America helped Iraq and no one helped Iran. It was all setup by the Iranian government to make it harder on the Iranian troops.

The other problem with this was hatred towards America started and it was this blame of how easily the mullahs bullshitted their way to power. Iranians have been suffering for a very long time, it's like a hidden Hitler has been in power and no tells them.

Every Iranian i know wants democracy back in Iran or some kind of Freedom and to benefit from the oil profits and not to be suckered by America or the mullahs to take all their money away leaving them with nothing and only to suffer.

The Iranians are one of the most intelligent people in the world and have invented great stuff and recently invented a few new stuff to help man and these were done under strict laws and most likely under extreme privacy. You see, in these dark times under mullah power, inventors were actually killed in a threat just like the young people being killed off in the war. The mullahs were and are still afraid that there has to be "NO SMART or NO PERSON LIKELY TO BE SMART" to exist. You might find this funny but you won't believe how true this is, slowly people are breaking through and inventing. Even one of NASA's top Executives is a Iranian. If they were allowed the freedom, they would do wonders for this world but under the mullah law, they can't even dress the way they like without being killed or have Acid thrown at them.

So you might think, "why don't the Iranian people do anything about it"? Well, could a Jew march up to Hitler and throw him off his throne?

In Iran, people don't even care if war breaks out because nothing can come and make it worse than their lives. So before everyone starts thinking all Iranians are the same, think again.

the true nature of the Iranian government and the American government will be shown when the oil runs out.

Anyways the last thing the Iranian people want is American takeover, but the first thing they want is no more mullah power. How this is going to be resolved is a continuation of Iranian suffering.

Ok True, i summarized it badly. I meant to say something to destroy the label many people have put on Iranians as fanatics, and this and that. More like how stupid decisions of government's don't really reflect the nations actual agreement.

It was to say that Iranians are smart and intelligent people (most of them) but it just something that is limited by the government, shouldn't have said "one of", my bad.

But you see that comment you made about my comment being racist is exactly the same as Bush saying Iran is a terrorist nation. Labelling them as something that only a few people might agree on.

You see, Intelligence isn't going to topple these devils off the throne of Iran. When Iran was taken over by the mullahs, they were in a very vulnerable position.

Only the people of Iran can overthrow Iran, but with the belt the government has around peoples necks, i don't think this will happen anytime soon.

if it's not completely obvious to some of you, labeling other's comments as racist, that it's not already implied there is a difference between Iran's mullahcracy and it's people when the likes of the UN the US and most Western industrialized refer to them, then the academics of a substantial debate are lost.

i've read in many travel books and heard first hand from well travelled people that Iranians are widely known to be the "nicest" and most "generous" people in the world along with the Burmese and Indians. It's a shame that the governments of Myanmar and Iran take advantage of their people

No, its true. They are very polite and not like the Croations who are aggressive, beligerant, rude, and drunks and greedy and mean and every type of attitude that is associated with the western world.

Problem is, it's the Iranian people that should be rightfully doing it and they don't seem to want to or are just happy having a mad-man running the place...(at least that's what the world is seeing).

I hope you're right Lemonad, I really hope the Iranian people do something about their situation themselves before the world is forced to do it for them because of one man.

The problem is if you go to Iran, and i'm sure you may know this but people are simply afraid of these guys. The government refused to pay people properly and they simple ruin the publics lives, many even hit drugs to calm themselves.

Thats the way this government works, through lies and deceitful measures. It makes the public weak so they can't start another revolution. There are people who oppose the government, but the problem again is that only a small number go against the government, rather than a higher percentage of the country. Those people that oppose the government will get killed or jailed. That's probably why the public don't want interfere anymore, they know the mullah are nuts. I guess as a nation they must stand up to them sooner or later cause i know everyone is literelly sick of them and they keep saying what a mistake it was to bring them in.

Anyways, i dug this up off the internet and it is a verrrry interesting read on the Iran and American relationship, and when it went sour. I recommend it to Iranians aswell if you didn't know the full story. Though it was written in October 2004, it still refers to the nuclear enrichment and all that stuff. Recommended read!

I wouldn't say that about my own country, while most Australians you encounter would be respectful and nice to travellers, from experience, you wouldn't be afforded the same generous hospitality if you travelled through a country like Laos. That would be a bold move on Iran part. If they do that, the whole world will suffer from that action will pull.
