Mixing on club 3-way system.
After years of messing about, I finally recorded a mix to CD for my mates. I mixed it on some small PA speakers, and it all sounded fine. I played it back thru same, and it all sounded fine. I then played it back off the comp thru the shitty little speakers built in (think laptop speakers) and there were 2 mixes that although the tracks were in sync timing wise, they were not layered perfectly on top of each other causing the ba-da ba-da effect. This showed up so much more clearly because there is no bottom end, and so the mids stand out more.
So, my question is, how would this go on a club system? Would you be able to hear it clearly as the mids are seperated from the bass. And how would you be able to tell if your using a 2-way monitor? (As that's effectively what I had).
Anyone with experience here?
