recording jp8000 question!

im using audiophile 2496 as my soundcard and i have my jp8000 recording into my sequencer through this although the sound quality is shit. anyone know what the problem is?

my guess is you're clipping, turn down the input volume.

i did this although when i turn down the volume a slight bit its very low and you cant hear it with the other sounds. the other sounds are already quite low as it is.

its the same when i have my decks playing through this. it sounds distorted or like its clipping. might be to do with the soundcard.

It's probably clipping, lower it and lower everthing else in the track by 8db to make it even.

record your part as the audio at a level that sounds ok. then gain your audio part until it is loud enough.. this works for me
