Software for arranging a mix (not mixing live).

Hello everyone! I'm thinking about starting a trance/progressive show on my college's radio station. I do not know how to mix live on the decks and don't have time or money for it right now (perhaps in the future I'll give it a try). So, is there a program with which you can arrange tracks and render them into a mix that sounds as quality as an actual turntable mix?

i think you're thinking of a program with something like an auto feature, i think.

basically something that will mix tracks together for you?

correct me if im wrong, but ive only taken a glimpse at Traktor DJ Studio, or whatever its called, a few times, doesnt it have a feature that will do it for you? can any one confirm this?

"Especially you" I said.
"You are virtually the ring leader, the way I see it."
Then, I blew out the candle.

You can do that in Traktor, but it would just be one trainwreck after another. Traktor won't be able to beatmatch correctly by itself.

to be honest thats the first time ive heard that, cause like i said, ive only taken a glimpse at traktor a few times, i didnt think it would be able to beat match auto, i figured at most it would just fade out one track completely and then fade in the next one after the previous is copletely, or at least nearly, out, something cheap like that.

That's why Traktor is out of the question

first, you can beatmatch perfectly in traktor as i have made some mixes with it a while back...it a bit to figure out but once you've got it then you are golden. Second, acid pro is a perfect solution for your inquiry. I use acid 4.0 and all you do is drop in the track and beatmap it. Once you've beatmapped it then you can position it to wherever you want and then add songs accordingly. This of course takes more time to master than say using traktor but once you learn to use it then you will never hear a trainwreck...

I've understood the basics of beatmatching in Traktor ages ago, but the soundcard on my laptop in not multichannel . Now the suggestion of Acid Pro sounds pretty good. Let me ask one question though: does acid pro have a BPM counter so that I can match the BPM's of tracks?

it runs a beatmapper wizard whenever you insert a track..from there you are given the bpm's

I'm wondering why no-one mentioned Mixmeister yet?

that can sometimes do quality mixes...and even a total newbie can do a nice mix with it

It is very easy to do basic mixes like that in Ableton.
