Hi All,
I am thinking of purchasing the 3 channel Stanton M.304 or the estac MC-180. I am going to e using 2 pioneet CDJ-200's with the mixer and an external Korg electri6e sampling unit also.
However when looking at the mixer, the crossfader is dedicate to channels 1 and 3. Is channel 2 a channel that can e used for another cd player/sampler/TT?
I would hate to purchase one of the 2 and find out i cannot hook up 2 cd players and a sampler/turntale to it?
Any advice?

I've got an M304.
The 2nd/middle channel can be used for another TT/CDJ etc, you just can't assign it to the crossfader. Problem solved.

Would it work for a sampler? I guess you would have to just slap the fader in the middle and shoot in the middle channel right? or would the middle channel come in when then fader is either to the left of right? How would that work?

i use numark dxm-09 all 3 channels are assignable to eitherside of the crossfader or even not at all.

finally got myself an M.304 yesterday! very solid. the only drawback is the spring kill knobs, but fuck em anyways. overall the mixer is great. great sound, long 60 mm faders, ultrasmooth crossfader and alot of inputs (6 linein!! + 3 phono + 2 mic + efx)

never use the crossfader, mix with the channel faders instead -> problem solved. crossfaders are for hiphop djs. i wish i could get rid of mine as it's only in the way and i gotta check it's in the middle like every 5 seconds, so my mix won't be fucked.

getting rid of xfader isnt a solution. it better have "pass" mode for every channel fader

i had the option to turn it off on my previous mixer, but my current one doesn't have it.

i've thought about that. i've thought about taking the face plate off and taping it underneath, so it won't look so ghetto, but i still haven't done it.
been meaning to make a custom faceplate for my mixer and if i'll ever get round to actually doing it i'm gonna make it so that the crossfader will not move at all from the middle position.
I mix with the upfaders when I have the chance. On my old mixer (dxm01) I had to use a combination of CF and UpFaders. With my new mixer i can assign or bypass and i dont need the CF although time to time i feel like using it.
