I've noticed that sometimes when I produce...I have instruments that sound kind of out of place. Almost as if I was playing this instrument up close and another from far away. It's weird because the song sounds like it's two different parts...a present part and something kind of distant. Is that a reverb issue or what?

yes that's usually what too much reverb causes...

imagine it like a 3D Cube, volume is one dimension, panning is another and reverb is the 3rd one.

The more reverb you have, the further in the cube the instrument is, the less reverb the closer the instrument is.
