Rent... get it cheap.

Own... personally, I get all my minor home renos through Home Depot, unless I personally know the person, or get strong referals.

it is a rental - but the floor is ruined from an a/c unit! abotu 200 sq2uare feet needs to be redone!

aaaahhhhhhh is right. Did the floor dry yet? Something similar happened to me. The tiles and pieces look all warped don't they? When they dry, they will go down for the most part. So if they are still wet, wait, as they will no longer have expanded due to moisture, and re-settle when dry.

10'x20' is a lot to be redone. The goodness of parquet flooring, is that you don't have to replace the whole room. You can replace the affected area only (each square made up of 4/5 strips). It's really easy and cheap to fix parquet flooring. I've seen the flooring cheap at either Costco or Sam's Club (look the same I forget), or just pick them up at Home Depot. Since you're just renting, you can do it cheaply with a dollar store caulking gun and caulk, or do it right with flooring adhesive from Home Depot. You may need a paitbrush and a can of varathane if you have an old floor if it needs to match the older tiles.

A little elbow grease for this easy looking job could save you lots, and credit me with a cold one the next time you see me

So it's an apartment building so yeah they are "fussy" owners, i gave the dude the advice to call home depot. He wants to get that done then move the fuk outta there. he threw out the old squares - b/c they all seperated and smelt like sewage, so he says.

it's 18 squares by 13 squares. i don't really care anymore! it's his problem.
