Ableton Decoding Cache question

so i'm running out of space on my hard drive...everytime i delete the decoding cache, ableton automatically decodes my audio files again...is there a way to prevent this from happening? i'm making a megamix and there are some tracks that i don't need to listen to so they don't need to be decoded...yet i need the space to put in other tracks

try editing out only the parts of the mp3 you're going to use and just import those all in. it's a little tedious, but it'll definitely reduce the amount of space that gets used in the decoding cache.
