[Cinematic Trance] Thorsten Becker - Infiltrator (full album, soundtrack)
Hi,
I recently published my new album "Infiltrator", a soundtrack project blending trance with classical music influences, ambient and industrial that has been getting some great air time and feedback in Australia recently. Hey, just listened to Infiltrator End Credits. Extremely cool stuff! Funny how every guy called "Torsten/Thorsten" seems to be so talented... (Torsten Fenslau, Torsten Stenzel)
It seems your goal is to mix trance with orchestral and you love love LOVE your Japanese melodies (i.e. especially from old school anime and video games)... which makes you and I kindred spirits buddy

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I appreciate it. Yes, my goal is definetly to incorporate my extensive exposure to classical music in my electronic compositions (my mother is a classical music expert, she introduced me to a lot of classical music and musicians). True too that I also watch a lot of anime shows. Add to that japanese gaming soundtracks (i.e. the likes of Yasunori Mitsuda) and a general interest in asian culture, mix and shake well and you end up with tracks like "Chinatown Pursuit" and "Meditation" (also on Overplay).
I am listening to your track right now. Very interesting indeed. I like it and will provide some further feedback later on.
Yasunori Mitsuda is a genius. Quite possibly the most brilliant name in all of video game music history.

I highly regard Yasunori as a soundtrack composer (check out his Kirite album, which is not a game soundtrack but a soundtrack for a book, which is included with the CD - though all in Japanese). There is a certain ethereal quality about his music, especially in the Xenosaga and Chrono Cross soundtrack. I like how the key songs in Chrono Cross convey perfectly that costal feeling. I live close to the coast in New Hampshire and Maine and I sometimes bring the soundtrack with me to listen to it while driving along the coast.
An earlier influence for me has definitely been Chris Huelsbeck. Ever since I played the game "To Be On Top" I have been a fan of his music. And his Turrican soundtracks can be filed under electronica classics nowadays. It's nice to see him still pumping out those tracks with that special CH sound to it (check out the track on his MySpace page).
