Leaving Tiesto Saturday morning at AC and they were handing out flyers for this, its going to be on friday 9/22, but I could not believe my eyes. For any true ":tranceaddicts" still into him, and from this board it seems most fans jumped ship a while ago, this wll probably be the nail in the coffin. Has Tiesto finally become the JP of trance music? I dont know how many of you will be shocked by this, but I sure as hell was.

i dunno who JP is but tiesto playing at abyss seems like a joke... but whatever, maybe he got tired of the NYC clubs and wants to spin somewhere else... whats so great about spirit or crobar anyway? hopefully though.. they can make some kinda test to get in for the night.. like name 10 tiesto tracks to get in or something, otherwise the place will be overrun with 18 year old jocks and losers who think they are cool by going to a club.

abyss will be shut down for renovations and I believe this is the grand re-opening party. Also, week 2 I had heard a couple months back was supposed to have Carl Cox. No clue if this is still on or not.

its not that the NYC clubs don't want him, they do trust me.
i really am not sure why he is spinning at such a shitty venue like that, i mean maybe 10 years ago if he couldn't get a gig in the city but this is just ridiculous

yeah, that must be it...
tiesto's talked about playing some smaller clubs here and there for more intimate gigs the way he used to @ club panama in holland a few years back. if he wanted to do a smaller club in the area it would've been nice to get him @ cielo though...
if abyss is revamped and the event is managed well and not oversold it might be a nice little gig.

I'm actually curious about what Abyss looks like now. Last time I was there, they must've been renovating because it was TINY. Smaller than it used to be. And it looked really ugly inside. So I'm guessing that's what was going on. It used to be a really nice club inside. Small, but nice.
