Made with Reason (feedback please)

Hey guys,

Finally on Tranceaddict, great!!
This is my first complete track I made with Reason 3.0
Check it out on [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

I've been playing around for a couple of years with the MC-505 and Novation Nova laptop, but they're too complicated to work with. All those presets and stuff, not just power on and start making music. I guess I'm too lazy!
Anyone interested in buying them?

My weak point is making the melody. Although I listen to all these melodies for inspiration, I'm still having trouble with making my own. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I like this alot. Here are some pros and cons of the track.

Pros:
- The kick is good, with a nice thump.
- The synths are good
- Nice yet simple melodies.
- Very cool FX sounds.
- Good bass synth.

Cons:
- There could be more bass. Maybe add a rythmic sub bassline?
- The hihats are lacking, try adding more 16th note hihats or raise the volume of the current ones.
- There's also no 2nd and 4th note percussion (like a clap, snare, resonant noise swoosh).
- The stereo width is quite poor. Try using stereo delays on your synths. The RollingFiltMultitap patch for the RV7000 is pretty neat.
- I wish the pad was more warmer and fuller (Try doubling the bass notes of the chords one or two octaves lower)
- The highs also seem a bit sharp, but I'm listening to relatively crappy speakers at the moment.

great to see another fellow reason3 user! i myself produce entirely in reason3 at the moment although i will be getting into cubase 3 sx soon - but anyays about your mix

reason has a tendancy to lack power in the final mixdown so in your mastering swuite you need to develop a stack of mastering effects to boost above and below 500hz - also progressing as a producer help achieve the thump youre going after ie check out my new mix, done enetirely in reason and youll see the diff: Violet Skies (streaming mix)

good basic track buddy keep it up - youll def need more variation and length in your mix in the future but i gather you werent planning on trying to sell this haha - additionally use that track i have above as a basic sequencing stance 3bar intro breakdown chorus breakdown chorus 3 bar outro
thats how a typical track is set

aight bro keep it up
spence
