The difference between PVD and Tiesto

PVD -> spinning style is more focussed on "partytrance", I mean he (never) plays tracks with long synths to create a trancy atmosphere but kicking trance songs to make the crowd go crazy.

Tiesto --> spinning style is more the real TRANCE, and here I mean, creating a "warmer" and more trancier atmosphere than PVD does.

Just for example Tiesto would spin push - the legacy (club mix)
PVD on the other hand would spin the svensson and gielen remix

Thats why I think hard trance fans will love pvd more...(dunno )

I like Tiesto more...

so...

Tiesto is moving more toward progressive these days meaning
He likes to spin long mesmerize Journey and i think his style is more than just dancing.

I don't think PVD plays more hardtrance at all. Tiesto throws a lot more variety (progressive) into his sets. Not a bad thing, though. PVD, however, just manages to find those amazing trance tunes that nobody can get for months. Still #1, like in my other post

I love both of them (I know I'll die to see either one of them live here in Zouk Club) but I must say they have quite different styles.

PvD is much much more melodic than any other trance DJ I've heard. I think he loves syths; his sets are unique and ALWAYS guaranteed to be uplifting.

Tiesto's sets have more variety, which typically might include decent house and progressive in between trance tracks. That's not neccessarily bad too.

To each his own, I guess.

PVD = banging and more melodic trance, representing 'German trance'
Tiesto = more progressive stuff with lots of 'Dutch trance'

Satan (eek!)

PvD has two styles. He plays really bangin, fast paced party trance in his live sets but then look at his CDs. The opposite. PvD gets it just right.
For me Tiesto's sets don't get me as motivated as PvD's. It's too quiet and to the same! But I picked up his new CD on the weekend. ROCKS ON!!

First off, van Dyk is very creative with his selections of tracks, especially his extended sets...throws in some housy tunes, as well as epic trance, techno, you name it....but he DOES NOT spin hard trance..

Tiesto, in my opinion, plays more melodic and cant be compared because the tunes he produces tracks that are quite different in energy compared to that of PVD....

But you'll always get those sets where they both play at least 5 of the same tunes...as long as you like what you hear...

I just wanna tell one thing : I have enough to hear about Tiesto in here and there ! (just see how many 'Dutch Dimension' posts there are)

Does people in this forum only know this DJ ? I mean, we see him everywhere. So what about the others dj's/producers ?

I suppose that most of them don't listen trance since 95, when this style explosed... A lot of artists should be more considered...

(sorry for my english !)

Greetings
