Quick sequencer review inside!
Hey guys!
Just bought my self a studio magazine today, and they had a quick review on todays most popular sequencers!
The magazine is in swedish and i thought i would share what they have written, cus i thoght you got a nice overview if you have some problem choosing one!
Anyway, here goes. Ill start with the cheapest!

Two programs in one, where one is based on the sound-program called samplitude, and the midi-program is based on a earlier version of Logic!
+ Good value for that pricetag
- High grade in learning, due to the two different programs!

Quick Review:
Handles sound and midi with support of vst and direct-x. Comes eaven in a more expensive "suit" called Sonar 5 Studio and Producer!
+ Powerful functions for recording and editing.
- Just for PC.

Quick Review:
One of the oldest and most welknown of recording-programs on the market. Handles vst and direct-x.
+ A big number of users, and is comp. to the more expensive versions SL and SX.
- You dont get so many plugins with it.

A recording-program thats been evolved from being just a simple drum-machine, to being a full function studio. Popular for making electronic music such as techno, trance and hip hop.
+ U get alot of good plugins and effects with it. Free upgrades.
- Only avalible for windows.

Recoding-program from mackie. Has a little different workflow than the other sequencers. Many feels that Tracktion is easy to work with.
+ Low price, easy to learn and work with.
- Not that many uses it.

The latest years, Pro Tools has grown to be one of the biggest sequencers in the homestudios today thanks to its easy workflow. Handles rtas- and audio suite-format.
+ Comp. with the studio standard Pro Tools HD. Easy sound editing.
- Doesnt work with all soundcards!

Logic Express 7
Price: About 300 euros

Quick Review:
The most simular program to Cubase. Developed by Apple, can be used together with Garage Band och uses its own pluggin format, Audio Unit(AU).
+ Comes with good quality pluggins and effects.
- Just for Mac.

Swedish virtual studio that is based on rack-synths and effects.
+ Comes with a big and welsounding soundbank that lets you create complete arrangements directly "out of the box".
- Doesnt support soundrecoding and external pluggins (Like vst).

Live is good for making electronic music, where you are working with alot of loops, and is a program that today growns in popularity.
+ A workflow thats good for both studio and live.
- Takes time to learn.
