what is a club

with more and more clubs practicing what i like to call " selection " and with more and more ppl whining about not getting in this and not getting in that, what do YOU think makes a club. be it from the client point of view, promoter point of view or owner point of view.
is it the music, the vibe, the decor etc...

i certainly think selection at the door is inevitable. club owners like to make money, and hire doormen who know how to spot potential customers who will drop mads amount of cash at there bar

i think that if every club was simply walk in and out with no problem at the door, it wouldnt be a club, it would be just a place.

please discuss

I'll just quote Club Therapy,

quote:
When I go to a nightlclub,
I'm not going for the fire that's coming out of walls.
I'm not going there to be in the VIP area, and drink fancy fucking champagne.
No, I'm not going for none of those reasons.
I'm just going for the music.
I don't need lights, and smoke, fuck all that man, I don't need that shit.
I just need some good music.
When I do go out, I just want to have a drink...
I'm just a regular guy, who walks into a club and wants to hear a groove.

So like I said depending on if your an NCM or Officer and your rank, you probably make at least $50,000 a year but most likely more. And depending on if you live at CFB Kingston your cost of living is probably very low as well, but even if you weren't cost of living in Kingston isn't that bad. Its only $30 which is cheaper than most nights at Stereo. Most of us on here who post about Stereo have put out probably hundreds and hundreds of dollars clubbing there just this year alone, and have never really complained for the most part. I know I sure as hell have.

I agree with Val, Club Therapy puts it best.
