Laptop help

I'm looking to buy a laptop and want to get a high performance one for music producing,gaming etc. i thought about an alienware or a dell. but i also thought about a macbook pro but ive never used mac os, i'd like to learn how anyways. what i'm looking for is some help in what kind to get any help is appreciated thanks

Which DELL one were you considering?

Their XPS series is quite powerful but I'll tell you right now, they're HEAVY.

i figure your priorities should be focused on RAM (1GB minimum) and a decent dedicated video engine.

second, a wide-screen is a must, no matter what size you're willing to pay for.

lastly, with this generation of CPU's whether it's a Intel or AMD you should opt for a low voltage unit regardless of the two manufacturers. the speed is secondary when considering either CPU unless you genuinely are gonna be heavily multi-tasking. just MHO.

i don't know, i'm really liking the new HP's for the price. i currently own a 3 yr. old Vaio. whoopity dooooo!
